Last Minute Whiskey Gifts

Last Minute Whiskey Gifts

Yet another week of whiskey gifts.  These have been thought out for that hard-to-buy-for whiskey enthusiast in your life.  Be sure to check out the last two blog entries and see the first 14 suggestions after looking at the 7 new ones here… #1-  Whiskey Emergency Kit. (And don’t get hung up on the “gentleman” bit in the link. Ladies will like this too!) This is a bit odd because it is actually a DIY kit and requires some work on your part. However, I believe that the kits you can buy are a bit lacking in the personalization dept. You know your whiskey enthusiast best and many of the items that can be included vary wildly in price. A Week of Christmas Gift Ideas…

A Week of Christmas Gift Ideas…

Let’s be honest, there are really only a few weeks left until Christmas (Amazon only ships until Christmas eve), Hanukkah is underway, and we’re all scrambling for gifts! I wanted to put together some ideas that would be helpful to a person that has no idea what to get for their favorite whiskey drinker. There are tons of lists out there, but I tried to put mine together with a personal touch. #1- When it comes to Etsy gifts, you want to order those early. Personalized gifts, especially. Christmas with the Drop Kick Murphys

Christmas with the Drop Kick Murphys

This may not be the most gentle or nurturing song for the spirit of Christmas but it always makes me smile to hear it. So without further ado…The Drop Kick Murphy’s “The Season’s Upon Us…” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxYZRAowdzc The season’s upon us, it’s that time of year Brandy and eggnog, there’s plenty of cheer There’s lights on the trees and there’s wreaths to be hung...

Christmas Egg Nog

Christmas Egg Nog

6 days until Christmas…Time to make the EGG NOG! Egg nog’s origins are a bit fuzzy. It may be that it originated in England, but many believe modern egg nog is derived from a medieval recipe for posset. Posset was a drink made of hot milk curdled with ale, wine, or other alcoholic liquor and typically flavored with spices, drunk as a delicacy or as a remedy for colds. The word “nog” comes from the word noggin, a Middle English term for a small, carved wooden mug used toserve alcohol. Egg nog should be aged, not only because the flavor will enhance over time, but because any bacteria will not survive after the aging process. I always recommend making your own egg nog. It’s always tastes better and you know where it’s been and what’s in it! This recipe needs...
