Anyone that brings a bottle is welcome to taste any of the whiskeys on the table. Snacks and chocolates\, too!\nI will always bring a few of my own for sharing\, as well. *Anyone that’s been to our tastings knows that the bottles from my collection are always for sharing:) \nDifficult to decide\, but I chose the following for tomorrow- \n\nBlack Maple Hill Rye Whiskey\nWhistle Pig Farm Stock\nWhistle PIg Old World\nBulleit 12 Year Old Rye (as a comparison to the WP Old World)\nThistle Finch Straight Rye\nWillet 4 Year Old Rye\nDad’s Hat Straight Rye\nBarrel 21 White Rye (to see what a white dog rye might taste like)\n\nWe will relax\, light up a cigar and enjoy whiskey with friends. Bring a bottle of your own whiskey from your collection and share! I will always bring a few of my own for sharing\, as well. *Anyone that’s been to our tastings knows that the bottles from my collection are always for sharing:) \nWe will relax\, light up a cigar and enjoy whiskey with friends. There is no rule about which whiskey to bring or which cigar to smoke. It’s meant to be an opportunity to do what one is supposed to do with your whiskey- Share it with like-minded enthusiasts! DESCRIPTION:If you’ve never tried Compass Box whiskies\, you’re in for delicious event! \nJoin the Dram Devotees of Bucks County as we taste our way through some of the most impressive\, modern scotch whiskies available. Compass Box is a blending house that is modeled after the Scottish blending houses of old. What began in the 1840’s with Andrew Usher II blending grain and malt whisky in Edinburgh\, Scotland\, became a movement of establishing blending houses in the 1870’s by men like Chivas\, Ballantine\, Walker and Dewar in London\, England. These men revolutionized scotch whiskey and men like John Glaser of Compass Box (with their Blending Room also in London) are continuing that tradition today. \nIn an industry that has steadfastly remained committed to ‘the way we’ve always done things’\, Compass Box focuses relentlessly on creativity\, process innovations\, and exploring the many ways we all can enjoy the pleasures of Scotch whisky. \nIf we consider a single malt whisky to be the whisky equivalent of a solo musician\, then a blend can be compared to an orchestra. A blend is a precise taste reproduction every time\, and that precision requires incredibly talented and well-respected nosers and tasters from the whisky industry. We will discuss this skill and use a nosing kit to help distinguish flavor and scent profiles from the whisky we taste together. Bring your tasting journal to keep notes! \n1. DESCRIPTION:Join the Dram Devotees of Bucks County at Makefield Highland’s Golf Course on February 24th and 25th for a private tasting of 6 Irish whiskeys. \nUntil the past decade\, Irish whiskey’s one time pre-eminence had largely been forgotten.  Yet this is a country that had conceivable made a barley spirit before Scotland\, a country whose love of its make was so famed in the sixteenth century that Shakespeare wrote\, “I would rather trust…an Irishman with my aqua-vitae bottle…than my wife with herself.” \n-Dave Broom \nIreland is in the midst of a craft whiskey renaissance.  Though Ireland is widely credited as being the original home of whiskey(aqua-vitae)\, the country suffered a massive decline in production over the last century.  Prohibition (both at home and in the U.S.)\, the 2nd World War\, and changing tastes in liquor consumption\, affected their nation’s whiskey industry.  Though Ireland has maintained a long trade relationship with American drinkers\, it wasn’t until the turn of the century that Ireland found renewed ambition to regain its former whiskey making glory.  It has begun to introduce new distilleries and new whiskeys.  We can no longer assume that we know what Irish whiskey tastes like.  Variety and creativity are back on the emerald isle. \nWe will taste 6 unique and distinct Irish whiskeys (that may be a bit difficult to get here in Pennsylvania). \n\nTullamore Dew 12 year old Irish Whiskey\nJameson’s Caskmates\nTeeling Single Malt Irish Whiskey\nGreenore Single Grain 8 Year old\nRedbreast 12 Year old Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey\nWest Cork Limited Release Barrel Proof Irish Whiskey\n\n*There will also be family style small bites to pair with each whiskey\, giveaways\, promotions and more!
